21 weeks

So I am now 21 weeks...definitely into my second half. Everyone that I speak to says that I don't look anywhere near to being 5 1/2 months. I am happy to hear that I don't look like I've gained tons of weight but on the other hand, my mind goes into overdrive. So now I'm wondering if everything is OK with our little monkey. I mean everyone says I should be feeling things now. I'll be honest, I don't feel any shoves or kicks or anything like that. And I'm still second guessing myself about the flutters. It's tough when no one's pregnancy is the same.
I'll stop thinking about it cuz I'm driving myself crazy. So, I will focus on the positive. I have gained 10 lbs since the start of the pregnancy. I'm pretty happy about that when I hear that other people have gained 50-80lbs. I'm not out of the woods yet but I'm hoping I can keep control lol.

Here is a picture that was taken just yesterday of my belly. I think it's getting there!!!
Let me know what you think!!!
Oh and that's part of our garden in the background. It's not doing too bad so far this year!! Can't wait for everything to ready.

Our Garden

It has been 1 year since we moved into our new home. Last year, it was too late to plant a vegetable garden. This year, we managed to plant one. We weren't sure how it would do but so far, it looks good. We only planted 5 different veggies; pink tomatoes, green peppers, red peppers, onions and cucumbers. We didn't want to go too crazy and then find out we picked a bad spot lol. We didn't. The garden is going crazy!! We had bugs eating the leaves, so I have sprayed a little eco friendly insecticide. Now they are looking great. We planted a little late which means that the fruits of our labour will be ready a little later. But that's OK - it's going to taste great!! Also, we have garlic. The people who had gardens before us must have planted them and they just keep coming back. The only problem is that they are in the middle of the grass! We are going to try and transplant them this year, otherwise, we will just plant new ones.
It's amazing to me how relaxing working in the garden is. Ok, well I just sit and watch as my DH works in the garden. It's difficult for me to stay bent over for long periods of time, so he gets to weed.
Maybe once we have weeded the entire garden, I will be able to post a pic!!

Still growing strong!!

So we had an u/s today and it couldn't have come sooner. Everyone keeps asking me if I feel our little monkey, but I don't think I do. I feel flutters when I lay down at night, but I always second guess myself.
Today however, we got to see that he/she was moving and enjoying their current home.
The tech wasn't great. She didn't really tell us anything and we had to pull information out of her. And all we got was 1 picture. And it's not very clear. We did get to see pretty much everything. Except of course the sex of the baby. We want it to be a surprise. But the baby's legs were crossed so I don't know if we would have seen anything even if we wanted to know.
It was very reassuring to see our little one. We also received our results from the IPS test and the Doc says everything looks great.
Once I have the pic available to post - I will.

Homeownership...

I haven't been around lately because all we've been working on is the house. Inside and out.
It just never ends.
DH just finished sealing the driveway and it took 4- 18L pails to almost finish it. We need 1 more pail to be able to finish the driveway completely. Luckily, our other driveway is gravel.
We also bought exterior paint so that we can paint the house. We knew this had to be done when we bought the house. Probably one of the reasons it was on the market so long is because there was a lot of work to be done. It's not so much expensive work but labour intensive.
Because I don't have the same stamina as before, I tend to work in the gardens. Important none the less.
We've also painted the baby's room. It definitely needs a second coat. That will be done this week. Then by September, we will put in the new floor.
I enjoy seeing the before and afters of it all. It really shows how far the house has come. We are not ready to sell but we always keep that in mind when we do any updates.
There is a beautiful hobby farm on the market not too far from us. 30 acres of land with barns and of course the original farm house built in 1892. It's so what we would love. However, we are not there yet. We both want land to be able to have our own animals and a HUGE garden. And of course to let the kids just be able to go out and play. We want them to have room to go out and use their imagination. Not be the kind of kids who sit in front of a TV/video game/computer all the time.
We aren't there yet, but we will get there. That's for sure.
I actually want a big farmhouse and I want my father to come and live with us. This way here he can do as he pleases and he doesn't HAVE to take care of everything himself. And of course he won't be alone. Of course these are all just thoughts/ideas right now. Nothing will be changing in the short term but definitely a long term goal.
